How we record🎥

How we record🎥

Transparency and accessibility are at the core of everything we do at "The Thing." We believe in open dialogue and sharing our process, so we're pulling back the curtain to give you a glimpse into how we record and produce our content.

Recording setup keeping it simple

We embrace a "lowfi" approach to recording.

We're rocking the following equipment-

Logitech Brio 4k streaming cam
Fifine USB Microphone

Our conversations typically happen over Google Meet, a platform familiar to most and readily accessible (unfortunately riverside, podcastle and other platforms just didn't work for Renee back in USL days :( )

This lowers friction point and means we can connect with guests from around the world without the barriers of physical

location or technical complexity.

What we share

We believe in authenticity, so we avoid excessive editing (gifs don't count, right?)

Our goal is to capture the natural flow of conversation and the genuine way we talk, buffer and make mistakes.

Why we record

We believe that conversations about AI and technology should be preserved and made accessible for future generations.

By recording and sharing our discussions, we contribute to a growing digital commons of knowledge.
